Crazy Week Wrap-Up....Plus St. Patty's Day & a Freebie!

Friday, March 1, 2013
Wow! Talk about going from nothing to do to being completely busy in a blink of an eye! That's exactly what this past week was. We ended up having two snow days last Thursday and Friday which gave us a four day weekend. My husband was even off on Monday as well. Then we had conferences this week and so little time to prepare due to the snow days. Lucky for me, after a crazy week, I have the day off today for our comp day from conferences. Time to catch my breath again just a little! :) Monday is a plan day too, so I feel like I have time to relax and not worry about lesson plans too much today. On a side note, I felt like all of my conferences went pretty well this time which is definitely a good feeling to have after they are finished!

Over all of those snow days, I decided to make a unit for St. Patrick's day that will be here before we know it! I had so much fun with this unit and I am really proud of how it turned out. It's exciting for me to go back and look at it and really feel like the activities included use quality materials. Of course I wouldn't make it if I didn't truly think they were of high quality, but to see it when it is all finished and know that it will work really well with my students is exciting! Not to mention it is aligned with the Common Core standards and the fun story "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Clover!" Okay, so are you ready for a peek at it?!?! Click the picture to check it out on my TpT store and you can download the preview to get a closer view of the activities included in the unit.

I also decided to create a facebook page for my blog because I know for me, I rarely make the time to blog hop but I typically check facebook every day. This way if you would like to keep updated, just like my Facebook page Kinder Krazy.

Now for the link up with Teaching Blog Addict and their Freebie Friday!

Two Mondays ago, we had our professional development day and we met with all of the kindergarten teachers in the district. We were digging deep into a couple Math Common Core domains, and as we were reading about them, we saw pictures of place value cards to help students understand teen numbers. Many of my colleagues were interested in using these and wondered if the district had some already available. Anyway, I just went ahead and made some to share because I think these would really help my kids understand what two numbers a teen number is made up of. I hope you find this freebie helpful for your kiddos too! Click on the picture below to take you to my TpT store and grab them for yourself!

And finally, just a quick preview of what I have started this morning....a unit on transportation!

Have a super weekend!! Can you believe it is March already?!? WOW!! Where has this year gone?
